Yes, if the city in which you are parked has previously approved this possibility. However, it should be noted that the refund is given by time, not exactly by the minute you leave.
What does this mean?
It means that when you pay a parking meter ticket, the system reserves a parking time. If you leave earlier, you can get a portion of the money back, but the refund is calculated in blocks (or time slots), not on a minute-by-minute basis.
Example
- Imagine you pay for 2 hours.
- You leave after 56 minutes.
- The system has 10-minute blocks. Even though you did not complete the 60 minutes, your car is considered to have occupied the 50-60 minute time slot.
- Then, the refund is calculated from the next full stretch that you didn't use (i.e. from 60 minutes onwards).
To sum up
- The amount is refunded for complete unused sections.
- Time that you have already used, even if it is only a part of a section, is not refunded.
